Cuyum Mapu Hostel
The name of our hostel, Cuyum Mapu, is Mapuche for “land of sand,” referring to the province of Mendoza. We have been in business since 2006, when we were in the center of the city. We decided to move our hostel to an area that is centrally located but also offers relief from the contamination, noise, and pollution of the traffic. The hostel is a huge, old mansion with balconies over Avenida San Martin, a large terrace for relaxing, and a beautiful garden with a pool.
We are a cozy, warm pleasing place with highly professional staff, who will be more than happy to provide the best service and the most useful information about the city and excursions. Everything you could need to make your vacation perfect, you can find in our hostel for very reasonable prices that fit a backpacker’s budget.
We have huge comfortable rooms in a variety of unique rooms and different arrangements, including single rooms, double rooms with two beds or one large bed, and shared rooms of three or four. Our bathrooms are shared. On the top floor, the bathrooms are antique and large, with bathtubs, while those of the bottom floor are not quite as large. All our bathrooms have strong, hot water 24 hours a day. We know how important bathrooms are to our guests, and hygiene and cleanliness are one of our priorities in providing a great experience.
We have several large common rooms stocked with games, a TV with DVD player, and big comfy couches, and a large open terrace where you can get a beautiful view of the rooftops of Mendoza.
Our gorgeous garden is a beautiful place where you can relax in the shade of our fruit trees, try that world famous Argentina meat grilled on our bbq (along with that famous Mendoza wine), and swim in our huge pool.
